Anniversary Thoughts

Do you remember being in your late teens, early twenties, realizing that a few things you're really gaining an interest in have great deals for students under 18? It seemed a little unfair to me, there were maybe two years where I had both cheap lift tickets and the freedom and mobility to take advantage if I'd figured it out. No money, maybe, but I wasn't bogged down with those details. Plus I swear there was free national park entry one summer or something, regardless...
When your in grad school, you get to prolong the fun for a lot longer with student discounts, although it never feels the same because of course you're paying tuition in the first place. It's like the world's worst value membership card. Every now and then, however, you find activites so geared towards an older audience that they're dying to get young folks to come. I can't say I'm an opera fan, but I knew a family where the dad is somewhat of a star (he's dressed as the nun in this picture) and it got me to check it out. For around $60 (cheaper, if I'd clued in earlier), my girlfriend and I got $330 seats (both combined totals). It's not my favorite art form, but I'll gladly see famous shows for that price so I can impress the bourgeoisie.
This is all one long explanation to the picture, which shows me and my girlfriend at our first opera. It might be my favorite picture of us so far. We're celebrating our second anniversary today, and I've got to run off to dinner at Sugar Bowl even now, so for goodness sake I'd better stop writing.
