A weird thing I've noticed

There's something weird about living where I do - in a University adjacent apartment heavy neighbourhood in Edmonton, Alberta. It's comfortably the most conservative province in Canada. Despite an anomalous NDP government from vote splitting, all regional politics seems comfortably in the conservative pocket. When the climate marches happened last fall, huge trucks drove by and shouted at us, and far right groups seem well represented nearby, even if a story here or there might exaggerate them. Driving an hour in any direction will yield endless duallies with "Fuck Trudeau" stickers, and worse.
That said, I feel like I know zero conservatives. ZERO. In an overwhelmingly conservative province and even city, I know maybe zero people who will admit to being conservative in three years of living here. The closest exceptions are: #1. A minister admitted to voting for a progressive conservative friend once while making a list of reasons he was sinful. #2. My girlfriend's friend's friend's boyfriend is apparently "fiscally conservative." I learned this to explain why he was the worst boyfriend. #3. Apparently someone who works in my building likes Rex Murphy's columns, which I was told to explain why I shouldn't trust him.
Having written this and racked my brains, I now remember that Ellen has some friends from high school who are conservative Christians and I've met them once. So they probably break the rule. There's also a conservative friend I knew from Calgary who I ran into once in Edmonton. Shame I decided to write this and think about it more. It breaks the ZERO aspect.
Worth noting, this wasn't close to true in Calgary. Probably a few reasons why.
